Visit to Mizzica Restaurant: A Real-Life Experience in a Professional Kitchen with Empleadís

Culinary Training in Barcelona: Learning from the Inside Out

On April 1, as part of the Empleadís de Mescladís program, we took a training visit to Mizzica, a restaurant in Barcelona specializing in classic Sicilian cuisine.

This activity is part of the hospitality and restaurant industry training programs we offer at Mescladís, designed to give students a firsthand look at the realities of the workplace.

Understanding How a Professional Kitchen Works

During the visit, the Mizzica team opened its doors to give students a close-up look at how a professional kitchen operates. The students were able to observe the restaurant’s internal organization, the pace of work during service, and the various professional roles involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant industry.

Experiences like these provide a practical understanding of how the restaurant industry works, going beyond theoretical learning.

Experience in restaurant management in Barcelona

In addition to the tour of the venue, the team shared their experience managing several restaurants in Barcelona, offering a realistic perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

The students had the opportunity to receive direct advice from practicing professionals, ask questions, and create a space for discussion that enriches their educational experience.

Empleadís: Hands-on training and industry connections

Through the Empleadís program, we strive to provide comprehensive hospitality training that combines technical knowledge with real-world experience in professional settings.

Collaborating with projects like Mizzica helps strengthen the link between education and employment, giving students a firsthand look at how the restaurant industry works in Barcelona.

Creating opportunities through training

This visit reinforces Mescladís' commitment to helping people enter the workforce and supporting them throughout their training process.

Through partnerships with the local culinary community, we continue to create meaningful opportunities, bridging the gap between learning and practice, and contributing to a more inclusive and mindful restaurant industry.
