Cultural events

The activities and presentations of the Convit/e sociocultural program allow us to talk and dialogue about the social and environmental challenges of our society.

The Mescladís Lliure Altell adds to its proposal of sustainable restoration through a unique gastronomic and cultural experience in a space that is a meeting point for the artistic community of the city, the neighborhood and the general public.

In the different spaces of Mescladís or in collaboration with other entities, cultural proposals are designed that, through gastronomy, highlight different themes of social content.
Convit/e
The sociocultural and gastronomic project of the cultural producer Mescladís.
Convit/e is a socio-cultural and gastronomic project that invites us to learn and think about migration, diversity, human rights, sustainability and food sovereignty, promoting dialogue through cooking and art as tools for encounter and reflection.
It was born in September 2022 with the purpose of talking about the social and environmental challenges of our society. The project is structured through the biannual paper magazine, an annual edition of the Festa Convit/e, the program of biannual and educational activities of the Espai Convit/e and the Convit/e Contest.

Convit/e Magazine
It is the editorial project of Convit/e and has been designed as a paper tool to promote the different themes and visions with which Mescladís works and which transcend the institution itself, becoming a loudspeaker for the social and environmental challenges that surround us.
It is published every six months and each issue deals with a thematic axis that is worked on in collaboration with personalities from the world of gastronomy, culture, art or academic research.
Convit/e magazine also has access to audiovisual content, playlists, podcasts and digital photo albums that help us to better understand the world of the people and entities that have participated in each issue.
Convit/e magazine can currently be found in Mescladís restaurants, in Nollegiu bookstores in Barcelona, in Altaïr bookstore and in social and solidarity economy organizations.
Convit/e magazine has won the Laus Plata 2024 award in the Aporta category, which rewards projects in graphic design, digital design, audiovisual or advertising that stand out for their social or cultural contribution articulated through design, art direction and visual communication.

Espai Convit/e
It is a space for workshops, lectures and screenings given by artists and experts from different areas with an intercultural and educational purpose.
They are carried out in collaboration with social organizations, schools, universities and museums in various neighborhoods of Barcelona to promote the creation of social fabric and neighborhood participation.
Each artistic and socio-cultural proposal is based on the respect and enhancement of diversity, gender equity, solidarity and cooperation.

Convit/e Party

It is a meeting place, a live artistic, gastronomic and musical expression for all ages. It is also the moment to present Convit/e magazine and to share its thematic axis. It is a new space for refiexion surrounded by artistic exhibitions that involve the community. The Convit/e Festival has in spring and wants to become a reference meeting in the city.
Convit/e Competition

It encourages creative talent and the participation of educational institutions such as schools, colleges and universities through three categories: visual identity, illustration and journalistic chronicle. The prize has an economic endowment and the winning individuals or teams subsequently participate in one of the biannual issues of Convit/e magazine and in the promotional communication elements.
Convit/e Educatiu
It is a project designed for high school institutions within the framework of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) subject, in order to promote Convit/e's core values among youth through educational content coordinated by Mescladís.
These resources will serve as catalysts for reflection and classroom work, where students can assume the roles of journalists, illustrators and photographers, creating their own communication materials, including a Convit/e educational magazine.

The Altell
The Altell is a cultural and gastronomic space at the Teatre Lliure de Montjuïc, in Barcelona, conceived as a meeting point for artists, thinkers, creators and the public. It encourages interaction between different artistic disciplines and offers a unique gastronomic and cultural experience. From the kitchen, it brings the values of sustainable catering to quality gastronomy, integrating art, thought and community in the same space.

Activity highlights at Altell

Tertulias that promote dialogue, reflection and encounter in which we combine philosophy, sociology, poetry, music and a recipe book offered by our students. See our agenda for details.

A program of music and poetry that opens the doors of the Teatre Lliure to the emerging and diverse art of Barcelona. All this combined with a sustainable kitchen that works as a catering school. Check our Agenda to see the weekly program and book.
