Herència Altés, Wine Refuge in Mescladís Lliure Gràcia

Last Friday, June 6, the gastronomic and cultural space Mescladís Lliure Gràcia hosted a new edition of the Wine Refuge, a monthly cycle that invites you to learn about sustainable wine projects from a close and experiential perspective. On this occasion, the activity was dedicated to the winery Herència Altés, a benchmark in Terra Alta for its commitment to sustainability, innovation and respect for the territory.

A sensory journey guided by Sheila and Terra Alta wines

The tasting was guided by Sheila, a representative of the winery, who led the attendees through a sensory and narrative journey that allowed them to learn not only about the wines, but also about the stories, techniques and values that bring them to life.

Herència Altés is a family project led by Núria Altés and Rafael De Haan since 2010, with deep roots in the Terra Alta region. Their wines, made with native varieties such as Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha Peluda and Garnacha Negra, reflect a philosophy based on minimal intervention, organic farming and an emotional connection with the land.

Four wines with soul, territory and elegance

During the tasting, four selected labels were presented, offering a broad overview of the winery's work:

  • La Musaranya 2023: Lively and expressive Garnacha Blanca, carefully accompanied throughout the winemaking process.
  • Trementinaire 2021: A bright orange-colored sparkling wine that evokes tradition, heritage and sensitivity.
  • La Pilosa 2022: Shy Garnacha Peluda at the beginning, but awakens its wild side as it opens up.
  • La Borrassona 2022: Cherry red in color and medium depth, an elegant and balanced wine that completes the experience.

Each glass served as a starting point to discuss the biodiversity of the Lo Grau de l'Inquisidor estate, sustainable production techniques and the responsible energy model that positions Herència Altés as a member of International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) from 2022.

A haven for wine with a conscience

Refugio de Vinos is an initiative of Mescladís Lliure Gràcia that takes place one Friday a month. Its objective is to generate a space for tasting, conversation and meeting with producers, promoting a wine culture that values sustainability, territorial identity and community participation.

Beyond wine, the project seeks to create bridges: between people, territories and stories. One glass at a time.

📍 Next editions and activities will be announced through Mescladís communication channels.
