From the Stage to the Plate: Sabor i Art Dives into *L’òpera de tres rals*

What happens when a play doesn't end when the curtain falls, but continues through the flavors, textures, and colors of a dish?

As part of the “Sabor i Art” program, the group of students visited the Teatre Lliure to see *L’òpera de tres rals*. This experience went far beyond simply attending a performance: observing, listening, and letting oneself be surprised by everything happening on stage is part of the creative process that will later extend into the kitchen as well.

Throughout the project, the students focused on the different elements that make up their world: color, music, textures, atmosphere, and—especially—the personalities and characteristics of their main characters. Everything they saw and felt could later become an idea, an ingredient, or a different way of understanding a dish.

And it was precisely after leaving the theater that a new phase of the process began.

The group sat down to share their impressions and reflect collectively on the experience. What colors best represent the work? What feelings does the music convey? How could a character’s personality be conveyed through texture? What culinary contrasts could explain what they had just experienced?

Through this conversation, the different perspectives began to converge. Each student contributed their own insights until they arrived at a shared vision of what the dish should convey. A proposal born of observation, dialogue, and the ability to transform an artistic experience into a culinary creation.

We can’t reveal much more just yet. The production continues to take shape, and very soon one of the most special moments of the process will arrive: presenting it to the cast of *The Three Rals Opera* so they can taste it.

It will be time to come full circle: from the stage to the students’ gaze, from their gaze to the kitchen, and finally, from the kitchen back to the artists who inspired the creation.

An exchange between theater and gastronomy, between those who create on stage and those who bring that creation to life in the kitchen. Because at Sabor i Art, cooking is also a way of observing, listening, interpreting, and explaining.
