Start of M.O.I.S.S., the new training and social and labor inclusion project of Mescladís!

The Fundació Ciutadania Multicultural - Mescladís officially launches M.O.I.S.S. (Mescladís: Opportunities for Sustainable Social Inclusion), an innovative program that starts this September and offers free training itineraries in cooking and catering to people in vulnerable situations in Barcelona. With the support of the European Social Fund and other collaborating entities, this project aims to transform lives through vocational training in the HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants and cafes), sustainability and social justice.

What is M.O.I.S.S.?

M.O.I.S.S. is much more than a cooking or service course. It is a comprehensive 16-month program that aims to accompany 180 people at risk of social exclusion -migrants, refugees, young people in exile, women in vulnerable situations- in a real process of labor, social and personal inclusion.

From September 23, 2024 to December 2025, 16 editions of this program, which combines technical training, professional internships, community development and personalized accompaniment for job placement, will be carried out.

Why is it different?

M.O.I.S.S. is specially designed for people that other programs do not reach, including those in irregular administrative status, with a focus on sustainability, gender equity and respect for cultural diversity.

In addition, Mescladís has five of its own catering spaces, which allows for real dual training and direct hiring possibilities.
