Celebrating 25 years of social commitment together with Fundació Cedre
Last Saturday, October 11th, Mescladís Catering had the pleasure of accompanying Fundació Cedre in the celebration of its 25th anniversary, offering a solidary, sustainable and full of flavor catering.
Fundació Cedre is a non-profit association, declared of public utility by the Generalitat de Catalunya. It was born in the summer of 2000, as a result of the initiative of a group of volunteers and the actions promoted from the Caputxins de Sarrià, within the framework of solidarity and social commitment with the realities of the third and fourth world.
A project with which we share fundamental values: inclusion, dignity, community work and the construction of a fairer world.

A pica pica with soul and diversity
For this special celebration, we prepared a varied and nuanced pica pica. The table included empanadas, focaccias, vegan tofu wraps with seasonal vegetables and romesco, the traditional Chipa Guazú -a typical Paraguayan corn cake-, cherry tomato, mozzarella and basil skewers, turmeric hummus with crudités, fruit salad and a delicious gluten-free and vegan apple crumble.
Each dish was an opportunity to share cultures, flavors and ways of understanding cooking as a space of encounter and coexistence.
Ginger and Bissap: two drinks that tell stories
Drinks were the undisputed stars of the event. We served our Ginger, a homemade soft drink made with pineapple and fresh ginger, and the Bissap, a traditional Senegalese drink that we prepared with hibiscus flower and mint.
These drinks reflect the essence of Mescladís: recipes that cross borders, made with natural ingredients, without additives and with a firm commitment to sustainability, quality and fair trade.
In addition to being refreshing and full of flavor, they symbolize the multiculturalism that defines us, the mixture of stories and origins that are found every day in our kitchen and in our training projects.

Catering with a positive social and environmental impact
This catering was managed under our zero waste policy, prioritizing organic, seasonal and proximity products, purchased through local and fair trade businesses.
The entire process - from ingredient selection to final assembly - was carried out with the utmost care for the product, using our ozone cleaning system, which guarantees food safety and environmental sustainability.
We also use km0 water and use reusable or compostable packaging, reducing waste to a minimum.
And, as always, behind every dish there is training, inclusion and dignified work: people who learn, grow and find new opportunities through gastronomy.
At Mescladís, each catering service is much more than a service: it is a way of transforming reality from the kitchen, creating social return in training, informative projects and opportunities for the community.
