Massa Mare - Borders

A space to inhabit the interstices of life

Last Sunday, October 5th, at 9 pm, we celebrated Massa Mare - Frontiers, a scenic and performative experience co-produced by Mescladís and La Otra Orilla, within the Viu Montjuïc 2025 program.

The tour began at the Plaça Margarida Xirgu and ended at the Teatre Lliure de Montjuïc, in a journey that invited the audience to cross symbolic, poetic and sensory territories. A collective journey between the intimate and the common, where the border was transformed into a territory of encounter, contradiction and possibility.

Massa Mare: Fronteres was conceived as a space to inhabit "l'entre" -that liminal place where the limit that separates also unites-. There where what does not belong entirely to one side or the other becomes fertile ground for dialogue, difference and transformation. It was a collective ritual where resistance and creativity intertwined; where critical thinking and the living arts -music, dance, poetry, journalism and embroidery- met to imagine new possible worlds.
