The Mescladís Board of Trustees

This new phase for the Mescladís Board of Trustees begins with the addition of four new members, who bring expert perspectives from a wide range of fields: hospitality training, sustainability and responsible food practices, education and pedagogical support, and strategy and social entrepreneurship. This diversity of profiles reflects the desire to strengthen the Foundation’s governance with voices that have firsthand knowledge of the sector’s challenges and can bring technical rigor to strategic decisions.
The members are:
Álvaro Arrieta Valle, professor and director of the Master's Program in Hotel and Restaurant Management at CETT (UB), a specialist in restaurant and hotel management.
Isabel Coderch Vergés, a consultant at Te lo sirvo verde, a sustainability activist, and an expert in the hospitality industry and sustainable food, who supports organizations in their ecological transition.
Jaume Font, consultant and trainer in ESG and international cooperation, Patró.
Rosa-Maria Pla, Director of Fundraising at the Carulla Foundation, Board Member.
Adela Ros Híjar, sociologist and social therapist, specialist in migration and intercultural issues, former secretary of immigration.
Daniel Sáez Quetglas, a secondary school teacher affiliated with the Department of Education and an adjunct professor at the UOC.
Alfred Vernis Domènech, a professor at ESADE, works in the fields of sustainability and social entrepreneurship.
Martín Habiague, president and director of the Mescladís Foundation.
The result is a well-balanced team, capable of examining Mescladís from different perspectives—educational, social, economic, and business—but with a single shared purpose.
The Board of Trustees is the Foundation’s governing body and is responsible for ensuring that its mission is fulfilled, approving the annual financial statements, and validating the strategic guidelines that will set the course for the coming years. It is not merely a formal body: its members are actively involved in supporting projects, forging new partnerships, and seeking funding, making their expertise and network of contacts available to the organization.
Looking ahead to the coming years, the Board’s objectives focus on three main areas: strengthening the organization’s internal management and communication, consolidating Mescladís as a solid organization poised for growth, and moving toward a more diverse and sustainable funding model.
Ultimately, the goal is to ensure that the Foundation can continue to fulfill its mission—to create real opportunities through training and employment—on an increasingly solid foundation.
