Refugio de Letras - November 2025 Reading cycles, writing workshops, book presentations, discussions and poetry performances.

Refugio de letras is the literary program promoted by Productora Cultural Mescladís, a space where the word becomes a tool for critical thinking, creation and transformation.
This cycle derives from the Revista Convit/e, a biannual paper publication that in its last edition -October 2025- addressed the theme "Borders": political, geographical, emotional and linguistic.

The workshops and activities that we propose during November and December at Refugi de Lletres delveinto these limits and transits, with proposals that explore new forms of encounter between art, literature and community.

How to make borders porous through writing, what it means to build shelters, how to explore identity from the margins, which books and which authors can help us open doors and build community.

The meetings will be held at Mescladís Lliure Gràcia and Montjuïc, with journalists, writers and artists as facilitators, including Julia Delfini, Gabriela Wiener, Cinthya Híjar, Esmeralda Berbel, María Catalina Jimenez, Ale Oseguera, among others.

ℹ️ How to participate:
- Workshops with prior registration will have the form available on our website and networks.
- Some activities have a cost established by the workshop leaders; in each case it will be indicated whether it is free or paid.
- All paid workshops have a scholarship place by Mescladísforthose who need it.

Description:
The stories we tell define the worlds we inhabit. This workshop invites us to reflect on how, from journalism and new narratives, we can build stories that resist hate, break stereotypes and generate community. Based on concrete examples and collective dialogue, we will explore how polarizing discourses are constructed and what narrative tools allow us to open space for other possible stories. A proposal by Fundación porCausa and Mescladís to activate the word as a tool for social transformation.

Description:
Las diosasesa writing and reading workshop to get to know the landscape and textures of Latin America through the voice of its women. We will trace that lineage, that shared and silenced heritage, threaded in verses. We will work with poems by authors such as Marosa Di Giorgio, Blanca Varela, Diana Bellessi, Susana Villalba, Emma Villazón, Mía Gallegos, among others.

Description:
Mexican author and performer Cinthya Híjarpresents El príncipe de Salsipuedesberg(Editorial Yegua de Troya), a provocative narrative about love, feminism, power and exile. Through humor, cabaret and autofiction, Híjar portrays the conflicts of a woman who migrates and faces her own ghosts between Mexico and Germany.
