At a time when misinformation and fake news are calling scientific knowledge into question, Mescladís and the Barcelona Museum of Natural Sciences present the latest issue of Convit/e magazine, dedicated to exploring the boundaries between science, culture, and society. An afternoon combining editorial dialogue, mindful dining, and live music—in one of Montjuïc’s most unique venues.

Afternoon Program

6:00 p.m. — Doors open and welcome reception, open bar, and announcement of the winners of the Convit/e Contest.

6:30 p.m. — Presentation of the journal and thematic discussion: Marc Campeny, head of the Science Department at the Museum of Natural Sciences, will present the topics covered in Issue 7 and lead a discussion on science and society.

7:05 p.m. — Flavor and Art: When a Reading Becomes a Dish The students of Mescladís present appetizers inspired by an article on food sovereignty and biodiversity.

7:15 p.m. — Musical performance: Alan da Silva, Miguel Tarzia Trio

The venue: Barcelona's Historic Botanical Garden

Tucked away among the old quarries of Montjuïc, the Historic Botanical Garden is a unique space where nature, memory, and the city coexist. It is no coincidence that we are presenting this issue of Convit/e here: in an edition dedicated to reflecting on the boundaries between science, culture, and society, the garden becomes the ideal setting for contemplating our relationship with knowledge, biodiversity, and our shared future.

The artists

Alan da Silva is a musician, composer, and sound researcher who explores the intersection of tradition, improvisation, and experimentation. His work creates evocative soundscapes that are open to dialogue between cultures.

Miguel Tarzia Trio Argentine guitarist and composer Miguel Tarzia presents a performance that blends contemporary jazz, Argentine music, and improvisation. Introspective and emotive atmospheres transform the concert into an experience of connection and shared listening.
