Convit/e Contest

The Convit/e Contest, organized by Mescladís Cultural Production Company with the collaboration of other organizations, aims to recognize the committed work of students of visual arts, design and journalism, whom we consider the representatives of our future society, in the promotion and defense of human rights, intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and sustainability, while seeking to establish new opportunities for collaboration that will allow Mescladís to continue innovating and growing in the development of the cultural program and the Convit/e magazine.

The contest is divided into three categories: photography, illustration and journalistic chronicle.


Edition 2025

The first edition of the Convit/e 2025 Contest is divided into three categories, photography, illustration and journalistic chronicle, and is aimed at students.

The winners in each category will receive a monetary prize and the opportunity to publish their photo, illustration or article in the magazine Convit/e no. 6, dedicated to the theme 'Borders', understood as physical and symbolic limits present in everyday life that contribute to the distancing between people, reinforcing stereotypes, perpetuating inequalities and hindering the construction of a more inclusive and cohesive society.

Evaluation and selection of applications: from October 28 to March 14 inclusive.
Receipt of applications: January 31 to March 21, 2025.
Public communication of winners: April 12, 2025.

Photography

Román Yñán / Photographer and teacher at schools such as GrisArt and YESCA, combines personal narrative with social observation, participating in national and international exhibitions.
Tanit Plana / Photographer and visual artist, focused on issues of identity, society and technology. Her work has been exhibited internationally and has received numerous awards and grants.

Illustration

Nadia Hafid / Illustrator and comic book author, she has created covers for El País and has published in international media such as The New York Times and The New Yorker. Winner of numerous awards.
Pau Llavador Manzano / Co-founder of the design studio Temabcn. He has taught in the Master's Degree in Packaging Design and in the Bachelor's Degree in Design at Elisava, as well as in the Master's Degree in Graphic Design and Digital Art at LCI Barcelona. Currently, professor in the Degree in Elisava and Head of area of the Mention of Graphic Design.

Journalistic chronicle

Mariana Vilnitzky / Partner and editor of Alternativas Económicas magazine, specialized in social economy. Formerly editor at Grupo La Nación of Buenos Aires.
Cristina Mas / Journalist and editor at ARA newspaper since 2010, specializing in the Mediterranean region. She has received the Gold and Silver Medal in the ÑH awards for her news coverage.

His work, "Limits of Freedom," conveys a profound sense of physical and symbolic frontier.

"The wire creates a tense division. A border that invites you to wonder what lies beyond. The shadows hint at invisible boundaries. There is freedom and restriction, light and darkness. The cardboard with little houses and barriers stages that restricted freedom. And the black cardboard envelops everything with silences and absences... what is not said but perceived."
