Gnawa Beat BCN - Concert on April 18th

Gnawa Beat BCN is a Barcelona-based musical group that fuses traditional gnawa music with contemporary influences such as groove fusion, chaabi and other world rhythms. Gnawa music, originating in North Africa (especially Morocco), is a spiritual genre with roots in sub-Saharan culture, characterized by its powerful percussive rhythms, the use of the guembri (a traditional three-string bass) and ritual chants.

Gnawa Beat BCN excels at combining this rich cultural heritage with modern elements, creating a vibrant, multicultural sound that connects with diverse audiences. Their performances are often energetic and immersive, with a strong improvisational component that invites the audience to immerse themselves in a unique musical experience.

The band has participated in numerous festivals and cultural events in Spain and Europe, gaining a solid reputation in the world music scene. In addition to its artistic proposal, the group promotes cultural exchange, bringing with it a message of unity and respect for ancestral traditions fused with contemporary sounds.
