Pint of Science 2025 comes to Mescladís Borrell May 19,20 and 21

🧠🍺 Scientific talks in the bars - May 19, 20 and 21 - 19:00 h.

From May 19 to 21, Mescladís Borrell will be one of the venues in Barcelona for the international festival Pint of Sciencea proposal that seeks to bring science closer to citizens in everyday spaces such as bars, cafes and civic centers.

With more than a thousand simultaneous events in 75 locations throughout the country, the festival will fill the bars with science for three consecutive days through informative talks, monologues and experiments lasting between 20 and 30 minutes. Researchers from different disciplines will share their knowledge in a relaxed and participatory atmosphere, far from the traditional classroom or auditorium format.

In this edition, Barcelona will have a total of 83 scientific talks spread across various venues in the city. The topics will address issues as diverse as health, the environment, physics, chemistry, technology and social sciences.

This year's participants include Francisco Barriga (VHIO), Elisenda Eixarch (IDIBAPS) and Pedro Gómez Romero (ICN2), who will help us understand everything from the origin of cancer to new paths towards a more sustainable energy model. You can check the complete program at:

More than talks: science, emotion and human connection

"Pint of Science is special because it brings science closer to where people are... in the bars!", says David Álvarez Ordás, researcher and coordinator of the Barcelona edition. The objective is clear: to establish a direct dialogue between those who do research and those who experience the impact of that research every day, in their environment, their health, their food or their climate.

Carlos Peris Torres, national coordinator, sums up the spirit of the festival as follows: "Every interaction with the public is a reminder of why we do this. Science is not only knowledge, it is also passion, emotion and human connection".

Exhibition: Pintíficas

This year the festival also presents the Pintíficas exhibition, which can be seen in train stations across the country. The exhibition features 23 female scientists whose stories highlight their work, as well as the challenges faced by women in the field of research. A proposal that inspires, makes visible and seeks to generate references for new generations.
