Massa Mare Fronteres October 5, 9 p.m., Plaça de Margarida Xirgu, Mescladís Lliure Montjuic
MASSA MARE Fronteres
Mass aMare Fronteras will be presented on October 5 as part of the Viu Montjuïc program , reinforcing the commitment to critical and community culture.
Massa Mare is a work promoted by Mescladís, with the realization and artistic direction of La Otra Orilla. It is a scenic format that combines critical thinking and live arts in a multidisciplinary experience where music, dance, poetry and reflection coexist. A piece that moves between fragility and power, open to improvisation and the encounter between disciplines and sensibilities.
This year's edition is entitled Frontiers, an installation that begins in the Plaza Margarida Xirgu and ends in the lobby of the Teatre Lliure. The piece invites us to explore that "in between" where differences are transformed into identity, where the strange and the new are already familiar to us, and where the everyday can become a space of resistance and creativity.
In this proposal, the links intertwine and expand the sense of inhabiting the world: a frontier place that, although uncomfortable, can also be home.

Information Blackout
A program of community actions in Plaza Xirgu that will end with a general blackout of lights and the search for an impossible absolute silence. Creators Anna Puigjaner and Alexandra Laudo will curate the day, which seeks to contrast the light and noise of the party with the silence and stillness of darkness.
The celebration is structured in two parts:
-
By the hand of the Fundació Mescladís and the community action organizations of the Poble-sec neighborhood, with activities in the Plaza Margarida Xirgu and the Terraza del Lliure during the afternoon.
-
BlackOut, at the Teatre Lliure, built from the blackout actions carried out by the artist TRES, specialized in research on silence. The latter is carried out in conjunction with UNLOCK THE CITY!, the Creative Europe program project that culminates this fall.
