Creative childhoods at Mescladís Borrell
Second and fourth Saturday of every month - 11:00 h - 12.30 h -
Creative childhoods (children between 9 and 12 years old)
It is a meeting space around writing, reading and communication. The premise is to enjoy creating with imagination. It is about asking ourselves questions and learning by writing. In each session we will approach writing with different slogans that are detonators of the imagination. We will approach the creation of stories, reflection and debate, both from the works read and written by the children, as well as from other oral or written narrations.
An encounter between play and writing
For María Sol Kliczkowski, this workshop is the synthesis of years of working with children and exploring the world of literature. " What motivates me the most is to be able to transmit and discover that children also enjoy getting close to writing," says the workshop leader.
Playing with words, discovering without limits
The instructions are designed to stimulate creativity in a playful way. "There are slogans that are infallible, like the exquisite corpses... then there are others that are a mutual discovery and a surprise for everyone," explains Maria Sol. Here, there are no right answers or a fixed result: the key is in the process and in the freedom of creation.
Reading, writing and sharing in community
The workshop not only seeks to encourage writing, but also to create a space where children feel comfortable to express themselves and reflect on what they read. " When we feel comfortable, it is easier for us to express our opinions, ideas and feelings," says the workshop leader. The exchange opens the door to new ideas and ways of seeing the world.
The word as liberation
Gianni Rodari, in Grammar of fantasy, said that his work was addressed "to those who believe in children's creativity, to those who know the great liberating value of the word". Inspired by that premise, this workshop seeks that each child finds his or her own voice and enjoys the power of imagination.
