MUGRE is a post-punk rock power trio formed in the underground scene of Buenos Aires in 2015. The band consists of Mariana Michi on bass and vocals, Jazmín Esquivel on electric guitar and vocals, and Sofía Naara on drums and vocals. The band emerged from a shared need among these three musicians: to have a space where they could write songs with direct, in-your-face lyrics, saying whatever they wanted without holding back, cranking the distortion to the max, and taking every liberty on stage. In 2018, they released their first EP (“Emocionando a la gente”) and, in 2019, their first album: “Gracias por cuidar el equipo” (a name born in one of the many rehearsal spaces in Buenos Aires that the band visited over the years). In Buenos Aires, they played at every possible venue, as well as at more renowned spots like La Tangente and Niceto Club, among others.
